Reviews
“I found the course the be very clear and easy to understand. We had such a lovely group of people and not only did we all come away with new skills, we came away with some lovely new connections. Paulinne creates a lovely space to learn and explore studio lighting, I would definitely recommend it to anyone just starting out on your studio lighting journey.” - Maria
“The studio lighting workshop was great! I’ve been photographing for a few years using natural light and the occasional on camera flash but I’d always wanted to learn more about using studio lights. Paulinne gave us a such a comprehensive introduction to the most common lights, working in a studio setting and talked through plenty of examples of her own photos. We also had the opportunity to try out different light set ups with our own cameras. It was such a fun day! Thanks so much, Paulinne :)” - MJ
“I have nothing but praise and positivity to say about the recent workshop that I attended with Paulinne. The way the information was given out was easy to understand and simple. I loved that we were showed how to physically do the things we were being taught and then given to opportunity to put it into place ourselves. I could have spent all day in there with those people. THANK YOU ” - Amy

This workshop is genuinely inclusive, supportive, and relaxed. You’ll be learning in a friendly environment with no judgement or pressure. It’s a space where you can ask questions freely, learn at your own pace, and connect with other photographers. You don’t need any high-end gear. As long as you have a DSLR or mirrorless camera that can be set to manual mode and a lens with a focal length between 24-85mm, you're good to go. I will be working alongside the group and guide you individually. All studio equipment is provided on the day!

No - this workshop is designed as a true introduction to studio lighting. At this level, there’s a lot of technical information to take in, and I intentionally use this time to properly introduce you to the equipment, light behaviour, and core fundamentals rather than managing a live model.
This course is different from many workshops where you simply “shoot away” without fully understanding what’s happening. There’s no expectations to deliver and we’ll work in small groups of 2-3 people, doing test shots and carefully analysing the light. You’ll explore the effect of each modifier (ljusformare), so you leave with a clear, confident understanding of how studio lighting actually works.
This approach has been incredibly appreciated by previous attendees and has given them practical tools and confidence to continue their journey long after the workshop.
If you already have some experience, or if you’d like to continue into my Level 2 Studio Lighting course with a professional model, you’re very welcome to email info@paulinnedraskovic.com. I’ll be hosting a small-group Level 2 class in Stockholm in February 2026, the following week.
-
The workshop is limited to a maximum of 8 photographers to ensure plenty of personal guidance and hands-on support.
-
Having hosted workshops for over 300 photographers, I can say the atmosphere is always incredible! Participants are always so welcoming and kind. Most attendees are fairly new to photography or have limited experience, just like you! I keep each event to a very limited number of attendees to create a relaxed and personalised environment where everyone feels seen and heard.
-
The workshop is taught by Paulinne Draskovic, a Swedish fashion and portrait photographer born and raised in Stockholm and currently based in Australia. Paulinne brings industry knowledge, a calm teaching style, and a deep passion for helping photographers grow.
