The Level 2 session is the next step in your journey if you already understand the basics of studio lighting and want to start creating images with intention and confidence.
This course is structured as a guided test shoot, designed for photographers who want to refine their studio work, develop their creative direction and build a strong, timeless portfolio with a model.
We’ll work through classic studio lighting setups, exploring different moods and subtle variations, while placing equal emphasis on creative direction and posing. You’ll learn how small decisions in light, communication and movement can completely shift the feeling of an image.
This is a hands-on, intimate workshop with plenty of time to shoot, ask questions and receive guidance throughout. The small group of max. 5 photographers allows for a relaxed and supportive environment.
Course Highlights
A deeper understanding of creative studio lighting - Learn how to move beyond technical setup and use light with intention. We’ll refine classic lighting foundations and explore how small adjustments influence mood, depth and atmosphere.
Practical tools for directing and posing a model - Develop a confident, natural approach to directing. You’ll learn practical methods for posing, movement and communication to help your subjects feel comfortable and supported.
A refined set of images for your studio portfolio - The workshop is structured as a guided test shoot, giving you the opportunity to create a cohesive series of studio images with a professional model. The images you capture can be used freely across your website, portfolio and social media.

This workshop is limited to max. 5 photographers, making it a unique opportunity for hands-on guidance. Only 2 spots remaining!

FAQ’S
-
No previous studio experience is needed. As long as yo have a basic understanding of your camera , ISO, Shutter speed and Aperture - you're all set!
-
The session will be held in English, however Swedish is Paulinne’s native language.
-
This workshop is genuinely inclusive, supportive, and relaxed. You’ll be learning in a friendly environment with no judgement or pressure. It’s a space where you can ask questions freely, learn at your own pace, and connect with other photographers. Paulinne teaches in a slow, clear, and practical way, breaking down studio lighting step by step so everything feels understandable and achievable.
-
You don’t need any high-end gear. As long as you have a DSLR or mirrorless camera that can be set to manual mode and a lens with a focal length between 24-85mm, you're good to go. I will be working alongside the group and guide you individually. All studio equipment is provided on the day!
-
No - this workshop is designed as a true introduction to studio lighting. At this level, there’s a lot of technical information to take in, and I intentionally use this time to properly introduce you to the equipment, light behaviour, and core fundamentals rather than managing a live model.
This course is different from many workshops where you simply “shoot away” without fully understanding what’s happening. There’s no expectations to deliver and we’ll work in small groups of 2-3 people, doing test shots and carefully analysing the light. You’ll explore the effect of each modifier (ljusformare), so you leave with a clear, confident understanding of how studio lighting actually works.
This approach has been incredibly appreciated by previous attendees and has given them practical tools and confidence to continue their journey long after the workshop.
If you already have some experience, or if you’d like to continue into my Level 2 Studio Lighting course with a professional model, you’re very welcome to email info@paulinnedraskovic.com. I’ll be hosting a small-group Level 2 class in Stockholm in February 2026, the following week.
-
The workshop is limited to a maximum of 8 photographers to ensure plenty of personal guidance and hands-on support.
-
Having hosted workshops for over 300 photographers, I can say the atmosphere is always incredible! Participants are always so welcoming and kind. Most attendees are fairly new to photography or have limited experience, just like you! I keep each event to a very limited number of attendees to create a relaxed and personalised environment where everyone feels seen and heard.
-
The workshop is taught by Paulinne Draskovic, a Swedish fashion and portrait photographer born and raised in Stockholm and currently based in Australia. Paulinne brings industry knowledge, a calm teaching style, and a deep passion for helping photographers grow.
