This workshop focuses on hands-on shooting, where you’ll learn how to structure a fashion shoot, direct models, and showcase garments and how to deliver a cohesive collection of commercial images.

The Shoot (3 hours, on location) From 1:30-4:30pm
During this hands-on session, you’ll learn the following requirements of shooting fashion:
Planning and structure
How to prepare for a fashion shoot (timing, flow, and expectations from clients/brands).
Understanding the variety of images often required - full looks, details, movement shots, and variety in poses.
Balancing creativity with commercial needs.
Making clothing look its best
How to work with different types of garments so they sit well in-camera.
Spotting and correcting small details before they become distractions (creases, movement, fit).
Techniques for working with patterns, textures, and colour palettes to make each piece stand out.
Directing models
Where and how to place your subject so the clothing is the hero.
Movement and posing techniques that showcase garments naturally.
Creative direction to help models bring energy while keeping the focus on the clothes.
On-set considerations
Working with natural backdrops - blending or contrasting with fabrics.
Managing colour accuracy and exposure in varying outdoor conditions.
Building a set of images that feels consistent, polished, and ready for a client.
